New Rules for Liechtenstein Numbers
The regulator and the government of Liechtenstein have decided to make several forced changes in the Telecommunications laws that have a direct affect on Liechtenstein International Solutions. The main points are as follows:
- The maximum charge for termination of Mobile or International Mobility numbers (all numbers in the +423 6 and +423 7 ranges) will be limited to CHF 0,3500. This was originally planned for implementation by September 01, 2007 but has been moved forward by the FL government to July 01, 2007. The original date was moved forward due to several massive fraud incidents in Germany, UK, & the USA. The operators in these countries had threatend to disconnect the +423 number range completely, and had allready partially blocked +4236 and +4237 number ranges in their networks.
- All operators that have number ranges assigned to them in FL must personnaly assign these numbers to the end users. The operators are not allowed to assign blocks of numbers to third parties any longer. The operators must maintain a record of each assigned number to include the name of the person using the number, address, and telephone contact details. All FL operators must be in compliance by 01 August 2007.
This has disadvantages as well as advantages. While the payout will be lower, the reachability can get better in the future.
